Aqrabat Hospital is the sole hospital specialising in Orthopaedic & Reconstructive surgery and treatment in the region.

We specialise in providing comprehensive care for bone, joint, and muscle injuries, conditions and reconstructive surgery. Our team of skilled orthopaedic specialists includes surgeons, physicians, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals are dedicated to offering diagnostic and treatment options to help you regain strength, flexibility, and mobility.

Departments at Aqrabat Hospital

Emergency Department​

The emergency department at Aqrabat Hospital operates 24/7 and comprises 10 beds in addition to the plaster room. All emergency cases are received and provided with the necessary medical services, including patient admission, plaster treatment, wound stitching, blood pressure monitoring, resuscitation, and nebuliser sessions, following the patient's evaluation and examination by the on-duty physician. The daily work rate in the ambulance department is estimated at 100 patients per day.

Orthopaedic Clinics

Patients are received at the Orthopaedic Clinics daily except for Fridays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, where the patient books an appointment through the booking link (Appointments). The Orthopaedic Clinics receive post-operative patients and new patients suffering from various bone diseases and pain. The average daily workload in the Orthopaedic Clinics is estimated at 250 patients per day.

Reconstructive Clinics​

Patients are received at the Reconstructive Clinic on Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, where the patient books an appointment through the booking link (Appointments). The Reconstructive Clinic is considered one of the important, qualitative, and vital clinics in the region due to the scarcity of specialists in restorative surgery in the area, in addition to its complementarity to the specialization of Orthopaedic surgery. The daily average workload is 50 patients per day.

Orthopaedic Surgeries​

There are six Orthopaedic operating rooms (cold and emergency) at Aqrabat Hospital, where surgical procedures are performed on patients admitted to the wards. Among the most important surgical procedures performed are joint replacement, manufacturing of ligamentous structures, arthroscopic joint surgery, neonatal hip dislocation, as well as replacement of bone fractures with various bone replacement materials. The daily rate of surgical procedures performed is 40 surgeries per day.

Reconstructive Surgeries​

Consisting of two operating rooms, restorative surgeries are performed on patients after examination and scheduling a surgical appointment. Among the most important surgical procedures performed are skin grafts and follow-up of patients with physical disabilities. The daily rate of surgical procedures performed is 50 surgeries per day.

Admissions and Recovery Wings​

Aqrabat Hospital comprises 5 wings with a capacity of 80 beds, divided as follows:
  • Male Bone Wing
  • Female and Children Bone Wing
  • Joint Wing
  • Male Restoration Wing
  • Female Restoration Wing
Patients are monitored in the wings and given the necessary care by the attending nurses. Additionally, doctors visit the patients on a daily basis to check on their condition and answer any questions they may have.

Laboratory​

The laboratory at Aqrabat Hospital operates around the clock, conducting laboratory tests for patients referred from all hospital departments (emergency, clinics, and wings). The daily workload is estimated at 150 analyses per day. The daily rate of surgical procedures performed is 50 surgeries per day.

Radiology Department​

Aqrabat Hospital houses a fixed radiology machine that operates 24 hours a day, where the patient is imaged radiographically and the images are electronically sent to the specialist doctor. This is done for several reasons, most notably to maintain the quality and accuracy of the image, as well as to archive and save it for easy access upon request. The daily workload averages to 500 radiographic images per day. The daily workload is estimated at 150 analyses per day. The daily rate of surgical procedures performed is 50 surgeries per day.

Pharmacy​

The pharmacy presents its services on a daily basis, except on Fridays, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It provides the necessary medications to the wards and emergency department, in addition to dispensing prescriptions to patients if the medicines are available in the section.

Rehabilitation Department
(Physical and Psychological)

The Rehabilitation Center at Aqrabat Hospital provides physical therapy and psychological support services to individuals who suffer from weakness or disability, while identifying their psychological needs and providing individual psychological interventions and group activities, with coordination between the two to provide comprehensive intervention. Caregivers are also effectively involved in rehabilitation to achieve the best possible independence with early intervention, in addition to providing them with available mobility aids to improve independence and avoid complications. The working days are from Saturday to Thursday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Prosthetic Limbs Department​

The Prosthetic Limbs Department at Aqrabat Hospital offers its services to all beneficiaries with amputations every day except Fridays from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The services provided include both above and below knee prosthetic limbs, as well as ongoing maintenance and replacement of damaged parts. Additionally, a mobile team is available to provide prosthetic limb services at Idlib Surgical Hospital. The center estimates the provision of approximately 50 prosthetic limbs per month.
